Up to Six Cadillac EVs Will Join the Lineup by 2025

Cadillac EV Lineup | Bangor, ME

Electric vehicles are the way of the future, and Cadillac is leading the charge. According to The News Wheel, Cadillac is on track to release up to six all-electric vehicles by 2025.

The first to appear will be the Cadillac Lyriq, which is set to launch in just a year. That’s right, this time next year, you could be driving your own Lyriq, an all-electric SUV. The Lyriq is one of the hallmark vehicles of General Motors’ larger promise to introduce 30 EVs internationally by 2025.

In addition to the Lyriq, Cadillac is laying the groundwork for three other electric SUVs. The first two to follow will be the Optiq and the Symboliq. While not confirmed, the rumor mill speculates that we can also expect an all-electric variant of the wildly popular Escalade luxury SUV.

But it’s not just crossovers and SUVs getting the electric treatment. The Cadillac Celestiq will serve as the luxury automaker’s flagship electric sedan. This model should hit our lot in Bangor, Maine, by 2025.

The sixth and final EV could be a “low-roof EV” that crosses a four-door coupe and a sedan. A name has still not been released.

GM to Introduce 30 New EVs by 2025

General Motors already offers some fantastic electric vehicles in the U.S., including the Chevrolet Bolt EV. Nevertheless, the automaker recently announced that it will be offering 30 new EVs by the end of 2025.

GM will sell at least two-thirds of these new EVs in North America. Chevrolet and the other GM brands will each be adding new models to their lineups. So far, 10 of the 30 models are on the development schedule, one of which is an electric Chevy pickup.

The upcoming models will utilize the automaker’s new Ultium technology. This innovation should reduce battery costs by about 60 percent and help lower the starting prices of the EVs, making them more attainable options for shoppers on a budget.

The second generation of the Ultium battery packs have also doubled energy density and could give upcoming models an impressive driving range of up to 450 miles on a single charge.* This means that you may be able to take small road trips and drive to and from work without having to worry about finding a charging station.

We at Quirk Chevrolet of Bangor look forward to adding new EVs to our dealership. Whether you’re looking for a battery-powered or gas-powered vehicle, be sure to check out our current inventory.

Here’s Why Cadillac Won’t Electrify the CT4 or CT5

Cadillac CT4 and CT5

While it may seem like many of your favorite vehicles are ditching their combustion engines and going electric, you can still count on the popular Cadillac CT4 and CT5 sedans to retain their gas-powered dynamos. Currently, there are no plans to offer hybrid or plug-in hybrid variants, either. Instead, the luxury automaker wants to focus on giving CT4 and CT5 drivers what they really want — more powerful models like the Blackwing-powered CT4-V and CT5-V.

However, if you’re in the market for a Cadillac EV or hybrid, the prestigious automaker offers plenty of options. A new flagship electric sedan, known as the Celestiq, debuted in the spring of 2020. The automaker also revealed a teaser for the Lyriq, an upcoming all-electric SUV.

There’s a keen logic in the automaker’s strategy — by offering both EVs and combustion engine vehicles, Cadillac provides a diverse lineup for all sorts of drivers. Whether you’re a fan of the smooth, clean, and refined ride that an EV offers, or you prefer the dynamic, energized growls of a combustion engine, you can’t go wrong by choosing a Cadillac.

If you’d like to get behind the wheel of one of these spirited sedans, contact us at Quirk Cadillac of Bangor to learn more about driving home in your very own Cadillac CT4 or CT5 sedan.
